Stems sparsely pilose. Leaves: petiole 12–100 mm; blade orbiculate to reniform, 8–27 × 15–42 mm, surfaces glabrate. Pedicels 5–31 mm, recurved near tip. Flowers: sepals 1.5–2 mm at anthesis, to 2–2.3 mm in fruit; corolla purplish to reddish, 3–3.5 mm. Fruits slightly notched to weakly 2-lobed, 4.5–5 × 2.1–2.6 mm.


Phenology: Flowering Jan.
Habitat: Slopes, headlands, under shrubs.
Elevation: 0–700 m.

Distribution

Calif., Mexico (Baja California).
