Stems puberulent to pubescent, hairs glandular and eglandular. Proximal leaves 20–40 mm, margins 3–5-lobed, lobes filiform. Spikes 3–5(–8)-flowered, 20–40 mm; bracts 1–3, lobes linear to filiform. Corollas 15–25 mm. 2n = 26.


Phenology: Flowering Jun–Aug.
Habitat: Dry, rocky openings in pinyon-juniper woodlands and sagebrush scrub.
Elevation: 1400–2600 m.
