Leaf blades ovate or spatulate, margins sinuate, fleshy. Flowers: petals rarely aborted. Fruits (cylindrical), 8-ribbed, 20–29 × 5–9 mm; terminal segment cylindrical, (beak sometimes flattened, blunt), apex usually retuse. 2n = 18.
Phenology: Flowering Mar–Oct.
Habitat: Sandy beaches
