Herbs perennial, selenophyte, forming broomlike clumps, caulescent; caudex subterranean. Hairs basifixed or incipiently malpighian. Stems several to many. Stipules sheathing and amplexicaul at proximal nodes, distinct throughout. Leaves odd-pinnate, short-petiolate or petiole subobsolete; leaflets (0 or 1 or)3–9. Racemes initially densely flowered, flowers ascending. Calyx tubes short-cylindric. Corollas pink to red-purple, wing apices pale or white, banner recurved through 35–45°, keel apex obtuse. Legumes ultimately deciduous, sessile, erect, narrowly oblong, straight or incurved, compressed laterally, unilocular. Seeds 18–20.
