Herbs perennial, clump-forming, caulescent; caudex superficial or shallowly subterranean; taproot woody. Hairs basifixed. Stems several to many. Stipules distinct or connate, conspicuous, several-veined, pale green. Leaves odd-pinnate, short-petiolate or subsessile; leaflets (15–)23–33. Racemes densely flowered, flowers ascending to spreading or declined. Calyx tubes deeply campanulate or cylindric. Corollas ochroleucous, banner recurved through 40°, keel apex obtuse. Legumes deciduous, sessile, short gynophore present, ascending, humistrate, oblong- or lanceoloid-ellipsoid, slightly obcompressed, nearly straight or slightly incurved, bilocular. Seeds 26–36.
