Herbs perennial, caulescent; caudex slightly subterranean, branched. Hairs basifixed. Stems usually single. Stipules distinct. Leaves odd-pinnate, usually sessile or subsessile, rarely short-petiolate proximally; leaflets (15–)21–33(or 35). Racemes loosely flowered, flowers ascending. Calyx tubes short-cylindric. Corollas pink-purple or whitish tinged with lilac, banner recurved through 40°, keel apex sharply deltate-triangular. Legumes persistent, subsessile, incurved-ascending or suberect, narrowly oblong-ellipsoid, dorsiventrally compressed, keeled ventrally, grooved dorsally, semibilocular. Seeds 30–40.
