Herbs perennial, caulescent; caudex subterranean caudex; taproot thickened. Hairs basifixed. Stems several. Stipules ± distinct. Leaves odd-pinnate, petiolate; leaflets (9 or)11–27. Racemes loosely flowered, flowers ascending-spreading. Calyx tubes short-cylindric. Corollas whitish, with keel apex pink or purplish, banner recurved through 45°, keel apex obtuse. Legumes persistent, sessile, gynophore present, spreading to ascending (humistrate), subsymmetrically ovoid-ellipsoid, straight, bladdery-inflated, unilocular. Seeds 24–30.
