Shrubs or trees, 2–8 m. Branches brittle throughout. Leaves: petiole with stalked, spherical, or foliaceous glands distally; largest medial blade relatively broad (38–55 mm wide), margins slightly revolute, (glands submarginal), abaxial surface tomentose. Pistillate catkins stout (17–27 mm wide). Pistillate flowers: ovary glabrous.
