Leaf blades 15–35+ mm. Phyllaries often purplish. Ray laminae 1–3+ mm. Disc corollas 6–7 mm. Cypselae 2–3 mm. 2n = 38.


Phenology: Flowering late summer–fall.
Habitat: Saline marshes, ocean bluffs
Elevation: 0–20+ m
