Synonyms: Voitia hookeri Mitten
Plants 3–6 cm. Leaves ovate-lanceolate. Seta strongly twisted immediately below capsule. Capsule oblong-ovate, symmetric or slightly curved, gradually narrowed to seta, basal ridge absent, smooth or nearly so. Calyptra sometimes split, often sliding down on seta, base not hyaline. Spores 7–11 µm.
Phenology: Capsules mature fall.
Habitat: Coprophilic
Elevation: moderate to high elevations
