Leaf blades slightly fleshy, margins 9–12 toothed. Inflorescences somewhat congested, tangled-ascending hairy. Pistils connate most of their lengths. Capsules 6–12 mm. 2n = 72.
Phenology: Flowering summer.
Habitat: Stream banks, wet areas
Elevation: 0-1000 m
Discussion
Variety carlottae is known mostly from the Queen Charlotte Islands and adjacent coastal British Columbia.
