Flowers (8.8–)9–12.5 mm; calyx 4.9–7.2 mm, tube 2.7–4.4 mm, lobes 1.8–2.8 mm. Legumes broadly and plumply oblong to oblong-ellipsoid or clavately oblong in profile, usually straight or somewhat incurved, rarely lunately so, 15–28(–32) × (5–)5.5–8.5 mm. 2n = 24.


Phenology: Flowering (Mar–)Apr–Jun.
Habitat: Foothills of desert moun­tains, along washes, on rock ledges.
Elevation: (300–)700–2300 m.

Discussion

Variety mohavensis occurs in the Mojave Desert in Inyo, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties in California, and Clark and southern Nye counties in Nevada.
