Stems decumbent to ascending, 5–25(–32) cm. Cauline leaves: blade ovate. Thyrses 2–6 cm, verticillasters 2–3. Flowers: calyx lobes lanceolate, apex acuminate; corolla 12–16(–20) mm.
Phenology: Flowering Jun–Jul.
Habitat: Alpine meadows.
Elevation: 2900–3300 m.
Discussion
Variety judyae is known primarily from the Wasatch Range from the vicinity of Lake Catherine (Salt Lake County) south to Mt. Timpanogos and Provo Peak (Utah County), and Mt. Nebo (Juab County). It also occurs on Duchesne Ridge at the western end of the Uinta Mountains (Wasatch County).
