Plants to 30 cm. Peduncles 20–70 mm. Pappi of 18–20, 3–5-aristate scales 2–3 mm. 2n = 16.
Phenology: Flowering late summer.
Habitat: Grasslands and desert scrub-lands
Elevation: 1000–1500+ m
Distribution
N.Mex., Tex., Mexico (Chihuahua, Coahuila, Durango).
