Stems decumbent-ascending, 10–20 cm, hirsutulous (hairs spreading-deflexed) in proximal 1/2, usually sparsely strigose or glabrous distally. Leaves: proximal and mid margins with stiff, spreading cilia, faces hispid. Involucres 5–6.5 mm.
Phenology: Flowering Jun–Aug.
Habitat: Sandy sites, commonly in pine or pine-oak woodlands
Elevation: 1100–2000 m
