Leaflets: blades lanceolate to linear, 20–80 × 2–25 mm, width less than 1/2 length. Inflorescences 4–6-flowered.
Phenology: Flowering Apr–Jun.
Habitat: Sagebrush steppes, pine and pine-juniper woodlands.
Elevation: 500–2000 m.
Distribution
Idaho, Oreg., Wash.
Discussion
While the range of leaflet shape (lanceolate to extreme linear) in var. pauciflorus is striking, there is a complete series of intermediate forms making recognition of var. tenuior, with linear leaflets, as separate from var. pauciflorus, with broader leaflets, unreliable.
