Leaves: blade lance-elliptic or oblong-lanceolate, 3–5 cm, base cuneate, lobes 0 or obscure, sinuses shallow, apex acute. Flowers 12–17 mm diam. Pomes broadly ellipsoid to suborbicular.


Phenology: Flowering May; fruiting Sep–Oct.
Habitat: Hedgerows, thickets, wood margins, dry areas
Elevation: 100–300 m

Discussion

Of conservation concern.

Variety angustifolia is very sporadic in its occurrence but has a rather limited range.
