Inflorescence branches densely puberulent. Flowers: calyx lobes puberulent abaxially except near midvein; distal end of differentiated area on corolla lobes rounded, truncate, or shallowly notched.


Phenology: Flowering late spring–summer.
Habitat: Dry, open, rocky pinyon woods.
Elevation: 1500–2200 m.

Discussion

Variety induta is restricted to the Clark Mountains in San Bernardino County, California, and the Spring (Charleston) Mountains in southern Nevada.

The name Swertia albomarginata var. purpusii has been applied in part to Frasera albomarginata var. induta but is typified by a specimen of F. puberulenta.
