Subshrubs. Stems procum­bent to suberect, sericeous or velu­tinous. Leaves: blade oblong-ovate, orbiculate, or ovate, 10–30 × 10–20 mm, surfaces velutinous. Flowers: sepals ± equal, ovate to ovate-lanceolate, 9–14 × 7–12 mm; corolla 35–50 mm; styles connate 3/4 length. Capsules globose.


Phenology: Flowering summer–fall.
Habitat: Sandy soils.
Elevation: 500–600 m.

Distribution

Tex., Mexico (Coahuila, Tamaulipas).

Discussion

Bonamia ovalifolia is known only from the Chihuahuan Desert physiographic region.

Bonamia ovalifolia is in the Center for Plant Conservation’s National Collection of Endangered Plants.
