Perennials; herbage usually loosely hairy, sometimes glabrescent, hairs appressed to spreading. Stems decumbent to prostrate, 5–10(–25) cm. Leaves distichous; blade usually ovate to broadly ovate, sometimes suborbiculate, 5–8(–10) × 4–7 mm. Inflorescences: flowers solitary; peduncles plus pedicels stout, 0–5+ mm. Flowers: sepals narrowly lanceolate, 5–6 mm; corolla blue with white throat, rotate to campanulate, limb 7–10 mm diam.
Phenology: Flowering Dec–Mar(–Jun).
Habitat: Sandy or limestone pinelands.
Elevation: 0–10 m.
Distribution
Fla., West Indies (Cuba).
