Calyces 1/2 corolla tube length, lobes ovate to suborbiculate, bases overlapping. Corollas: tube narrowly campanulate, 2–2.5(–3) mm, lobes (1/4–)1/3 tube length. Capsules capped by withered corolla.

Phenology: Flowering late Aug–Oct.
Habitat: Hosts: herbs and woody plants.
Elevation: 200–300 m.

Discussion

Variety calyptrata is sympatric with the more widespread var. gronovii; it resembles Cuscuta cephalanthi in the way the withered corolla caps the capsule and differs in larger, usually five-merous flowers, wider infrastaminal scales, and ovoid-globose capsules.
