Herbs glandular puberulent throughout, often also sparsely villous. Flowers: floral tube 9–14 mm; petals 7–11 mm; style 14–20 mm, stigma usually exserted beyond anthers at anthesis. 2n = 14.


Phenology: Flowering Mar–May.
Habitat: Rocky borders of washes and hillsides, with Ambrosia dumosa and Larrea tridentata.
Elevation: 600–1400 m.

Discussion

Subspecies robusta is known from the western and southern margins of Death Valley, Inyo County.
