Caudices to 2+ dm × 1–3 cm. Rosette leaf blades usually green, triangular-lanceolate to linear-lanceolate, 5–15 × 1–1.5 cm, surfaces sometimes farinose. Inflorescences: floral shoots 2–4.5 dm × 4–7 mm; cyme mostly obpyramidal; branches 1–3 times bifurcate; cincinni 5–12-flowered, 3–5 cm. Corollas ca. 16–20 mm diam. 2n = 34.
Phenology: Flowering spring.
Habitat: Cliffs, flat terraces, and rocky banks near sea
Elevation: 0-400 m
Discussion
Of conservation concern.
Subspecies virens is endemic to San Clemente Island.
