Most sporangia containing 16 spores; spores generally more than 55 µm. n = 2n = 90, apogamous.


Phenology: Sporulating summer–fall.
Habitat: Rocky slopes and cliffs, on a variety of substrates including both granite and limestone
Elevation: 300–1900 m
