Perennials, subshrubs, or shrubs (often ± fleshy). Leaves cauline; alternate; blades (1–)2–3-pinnately lobed. Calyculi of 4–12 bractlets. Phyllaries 8–14+. Paleae lanceolate to linear-oblong. Ray florets 11–21+, pistillate, fertile; laminae yellow, ± elliptic to oblong, each broadest at or near middle, apices entire or 2–3-toothed. Disc florets 80–150+; corollas yellow, lobes 5; style-branch apices ± truncate. Cypselae ± oblong, wings chartaceous to membranous, entire, not ciliolate, faces glabrous, smooth; pappi 0, or (1–)2 cusps 0.1–0.2+ mm (shoulders of wings sometimes bristly).
Distribution
Coastal Calif., adjacent islands, nw Mexico (including Guadalupe Island).
