Leaves: distal slightly smaller than proximal. Flowers: corolla purple, 22–30 mm; stamens: longer pair exserted, pollen sacs 1.1–1.3 mm.
Phenology: Flowering May–Aug.
Habitat: Rock outcrops, talus slopes.
Elevation: 800–2300 m.
Discussion
Variety sonomensis is known from mountain peaks in Lake, Napa, and Sonoma counties.
