Leaf blades elliptic-lanceolate to elliptic-ovate. Inflorescences: bracts ovate to oblong-lanceolate, or vestigial.


Phenology: Flowering spring–fall.
Habitat: Rocky limestone, scrub, pinyon-juniper woodlands, pine forests
Elevation: 600-3000 m
