Stems branched, 35–75 cm. Flowers: calyx tube 3–5 mm, lobes divergent, apex obtuse to acute; corolla 12–19(–21) mm, throat villous within across bases and sinus of adaxial lobes; anthers and filaments lanate; style exserted, 10–14 mm.
Phenology: Flowering year-round.
Habitat: Saline coastal areas, salt marshes, edges of saline or brackish pools, open salt terns, edges of ditches, salt flats, and tidal flats.
Elevation: 0–10 m.

Ala., Fla., Ga., La., Miss., N.C., S.C., Tex., Va., e Mexico, West Indies.
