Stems leafy. Heads commonly 2–3. Disc corolla lobes commonly yellowish. 2n = 18.

Habitat: Dry, sandy or rocky soil, in greasewood, sagebrush, pinyon-juniper, or yellow pine communities
Elevation: (1200–)1300–2900 m
