Leaves: blade ovate, sometimes lanceolate, margins dentate, rarely laciniate-dentate. Flowers: corolla 22–30 mm; staminode: distal 2–8 mm sparsely lanate; style 16–22 mm.
Phenology: Flowering May–Aug(–Sep).
Habitat: Talus slopes, cliffs, crevices, often in basalt.
Elevation: 300–1500 m.
Discussion
Variety dentatus is known from north-central and northeastern Oregon (Baker, Crook, Deschutes, Grant, Jefferson, Morrow, Umatilla, Union, Wasco, and Wheeler counties).
