Plants 8–80 cm. Flowers: lip 6–13 × 2–9 mm; spur slenderly cylindric, 15–25 mm; ovary 10(–13)–24 mm. 2n = 42.
Phenology: Flowering Jun–Aug.
Habitat: Open sphagnum bog mats and moist sandy and peaty meadows, pine savannas, openings
Elevation: 0–600 m
