Leaves: stipular glands present and prominent at nodes throughout plant. Flowers: stamens 5–7 mm; styles 3.6–5.7 mm.
Phenology: Flowering May–Sep.
Habitat: Open woods and hillsides, often on red cinder soils.
Elevation: 1500–2300 m.
Distribution
Ariz., Tex., Mexico (Chihuahua, Distrito Federal, Durango, Guanajuato, México, Puebla, Veracruz).
Discussion
Variety glandulosum occurs on mountain slopes from southern Arizona and western Texas south to Puebla in Mexico (C. M. Rogers 1984).
