Leaves: basal 2-pinnatifid.


Phenology: Flowering Jun–Aug.
Habitat: Alpine bogs, wet meadows.
Elevation: 1200–4000 m.

Discussion

Subspecies protogyna is found in the southern Cascade Range of Oregon and Lassen County, California.
