Leaf blades ovate, 10–20 × 5–15 mm, margins dentate-serrate, faces strigose, often glandular-puberulent as well. Involucres 10–15 mm. Phyllaries: outer 5–12-striate, lance-ovate to lance-linear, margins dentate, inner linear (± chartaceous). Florets 40–55; corollas cream, often purple-tinged.


Phenology: Flowering Apr–Jun.
Habitat: Desert mountain slopes, washes
Elevation: 100–1500 m
