Stems 15–55(–80) cm. Cauline leaves 18–70 × 4–20 mm, blade lanceolate, usually flat and straight. Flowers: corolla 20–32 mm, glabrous, rarely white-lanate, internally abaxially.


Phenology: Flowering Jun–Aug.
Habitat: Spruce forests, pine-aspen woodlands.
Elevation: 1700–3400 m.

Discussion

Variety leiophyllus is known from the Markagunt and Paunsaugunt plateaus and Pine Valley Mountains (Garfield, Iron, Kane, and Washington counties). Some collections from the Pine Valley Mountains have corollas that are white-lanate internally abaxially.
