Plants to 6+ m. Stems usually terete, sometimes angular. Leaf blades ovate or pinnately to palmately lobed, lobes 5–9, lin­ear, lanceolate, elliptic-obovate, or ± rhombic, base cuneate to truncate or auriculate, margins entire or ± lobed to toothed, apex obtuse-acuminate. Peduncles ± winged. Flowers: sepals stra­mineous or rose, accrescent in fruit; corolla limb ± entire. Capsules 12–20 mm, glabrous. Seeds 5–7 mm.


Phenology: Flowering May–Oct.
Habitat: Pastures, scrublands.
Elevation: 0–20 m.

Distribution

Tex., Mexico, Central America.
