Leaf blades 3-lobed, rarely unlobed to shallowly lobed, 3–5 cm wide. Flowers: hypanthium 7.5–16 mm, 1.5–2 times as long as sepals; sepals 5–8 mm; petals yellow, turning orange. 2n = 16.


Phenology: Flowering Apr–Jun.
Habitat: Moist banks, forests
Elevation: 0-3000 m
