Stems openly branched distally, sparsely to moderately hispid, moderately to densely, finely stipitate-glandular. Leaves green, mid cauline averaging 32.8 × 8.8 mm (15–58 × 3.4–14.8 mm), faces glabrate to sparsely hispid (fewer than 5 hairs/mm²), sparsely to moderately stipitate-glandular. Outer phyllaries lanceolate. 2n = 18.
Phenology: Flowering Jul–Oct.
Habitat: Sand and gravel deposits, stream margins, in oak and conifer woods
Elevation: 0–500 m

Discussion
Variety oregona ranges from the Olympic Peninsula in Washington southward through the Cascades and the Coastal ranges to San Luis Obispo County, California.
