Leaves 20–50(–60), mid cauline usually 40–50 mm. Phyllaries attenuate. 2n = 18.
Phenology: Flowering Aug–Oct.
Habitat: Sandy and rocky soils, edges of deciduous and pine woods, clearings, sandy and rocky margins of ponds and streams, balds, roadsides
Elevation: 0–1600+ m
