Plants 30–50 cm. Stems 1 (erect), not branched. Basal leaves: petioles narrowly, if at all, winged, lengths 1–3 times blades; blades suborbiculate to ovate-orbiculate, 1–5+ × 1–4 cm, bases subcordate to truncate. Cauline leaves clasping; subcordate (not auriculate).


Phenology: Flowering early Jul–early Aug.
Habitat: Open areas with damp soils
Elevation: 2500–2800 m

Discussion

Of conservation concern.

Variety intermedia is known only from subalpine meadows in the La Sal Mountains of eastern Utah. It has been described as “intermediate” between var. dimorphophylla and Packera crocata.
