Peduncles and phyllaries glabrous, shiny green. Cypselae: hairs 6–8(–10) mm. 2n = 60.


Phenology: Flowering spring.
Habitat: Usually sandy soils in shadscale scrub and sagebrush scrub
Elevation: 1200–2300 m
