Stems and leaves glabrous or sparsely strigose. Phyllaries glabrous, usually sparsely minutely glandular, sometimes eglandular.


Phenology: Flowering May–Jul(–Sep).
Habitat: Serpentine slopes, rocky and gravelly ridges and slopes, pine-fir, chaparral
Elevation: 600–2300 m

Discussion

Intermediates between var. nudatus and var. bloomeri occur in Del Norte and Siskyou counties, California.
