Plants (2–)6–15(–30+) cm. Leaves: blades spatulate or oblanceolate to linear-oblanceolate, glabrous or moderately to densely hairy (not strigoso-canescent or sericeous), densely gland-dotted. Heads 1–20(–35) per plant. Peduncles (1–)5–15(–30) cm. Outer phyllaries 7–10, 3.9–6.5 mm, margins 0–0.3(–0.4) mm wide, often slightly scarious, abaxial faces sparsely to usually moderately to sometimes densely hairy. Ray florets 9–15; corollas 11–17 mm. Cypselae 3–3.7 mm; pappi 2–3.5 mm. 2n = 28, 30, 56, 60.
Phenology: Flowering (Apr–)May–Jul(–Sep).
Habitat: Roadsides, hillsides, grasslands, edges of woods, aspen meadows
Elevation: 1300–2900 m
