Rosettes loose, internodes visible. Leaf blades (5–)8–17 mm. Flowering shoots 2–8 cm. Flowers: sepals 3 mm, apex acute; petals white, greenish or creamy white, or pale orangish, 6–9 × 2.4–3.8 mm; anthers 1.2–1.5 mm. 2n = 60.


Phenology: Flowering late spring–early summer.
Habitat: Outcrops
Elevation: 400-2300 m

Discussion

Variety retusum occurs on the North Coast Ranges and the Siskiyou and Klamath mountains.
