Petals white or nearly so, with conspicuous reddish purple crescent distal to gland. Capsules narrow in cross section.


Phenology: Flowering late spring–mid summer.
Habitat: Dry plains, rocky slopes, sagebrush scrub, pine forests, usually in volcanic soil
Elevation: 300–2700 m
