Thyrses: axis glabrous or glandular-pubescent distally; pedicels glandular-pubescent. Flowers: calyx lobes glandular-pubescent.
Phenology: Flowering Apr–Jul.
Habitat: Sandy or gravelly slopes, washes, sagebrush shrublands, chaparral, oak woodlands.
Elevation: 500–2400 m.
Discussion
Variety subviscosus is known from the Transverse Ranges. Populations are documented in Los Angeles, San Bernardino, San Diego, San Luis Obispo, and Santa Barbara counties.
