Annuals. Leaves usually with 1–2 pairs of linear lobes, sometimes entire. Involucres obconic. Phyllaries persistent, distinct. Receptacles conic, muricate, glabrous or sparsely hairy. Ray corollas yellow, laminae 7–8 mm, floral pigments remaining yellow in dilute aqueous alkali. Disc corolla lobes 5; anther appendages deltate; style apices deltate with apical tufts of hairs and subapical fringes of shorter hairs. Cypselae 1.5–3.5 mm; pappose. 2n = 8.
