Stems glabrous. Leaf blades broadly ovate to rounded, palmately (5–)7-lobed, 80–150 × 80–150 mm; lobes lanceolate to elliptic, margins entire, surfaces glabrous. Inflorescences usually 4–8-flowered cymes, flowers rarely solitary. Flowers: sepals oblong, outers 25–30 mm, apex obtuse, mucro­nulate, inners 12–20 mm, apex acute, abaxial surface glabrous; corolla yellow, 50–60 mm.


Phenology: Flowering Nov–Mar.
Habitat: Fields, hammocks, pinelands.
Elevation: 0–10 m.

Distribution

Introduced; Fla., Mexico, Central America, introduced also in West Indies, South America, Old World subtropics and tropics.
