Perennials. Stems usually twining, sometimes decumbent, procumbent, or trailing, to 30+ dm, densely to sparsely hairy. Leaf blades ± deltate to ovate, 30–80 × 10–40 mm, length 2–3+ times width, base cordate to hastate, margins ± dentate to sinuate, surfaces densely to sparsely hairy. Inflorescences: flowers (1–)3–5+ per peduncle; bracts lance-linear to lanceolate, 1–3(–5) mm. Flowers: sepals ± elliptic, 6–7 mm; corolla pink or white, ± rotate, 11–15(–18) mm, limb 5-angled. Seeds smooth.

Phenology: Flowering Apr–Jul.
Habitat: Disturbed sites, scrublands, woods.

Discussion

Whether subsp. crenatifolius is disjunct or introduced in the flora area is unclear (J. R. I. Wood et al. 2015).
