Flowers: floral tube length ± equal width; ovary and capsule cylindrical. 2n = 18.


Phenology: Flowering Apr–Jun.
Habitat: Grass-lands, woodlands, chaparral.
Elevation: 0–1000 m.

Discussion

Subspecies cylindrica is known from the South Coast and Transverse Ranges from Monterey and San Benito to Los Angeles counties, and from the Tehachapi Mountain area more sporadically along the southern and central Sierra Nevada Foothills from Kern to Stanislaus counties.
